Building Your Web Presence

By now, every builder worth his or her salt has a website. Perfect, right? Maybe six years ago having a website was sufficient. Today, having a productive website is only the beginning of the process. The Internet has changed our world new home marketers. Whether it’s social media, blogging, interactive floor plans, Facebook, landing pages, HTML, CSS, or any of the many new terms that have invaded our once comfy marketing world; the truth is that the rules have changed.

Why are so few builders willing to blog. Most of my clients say it’s time! They’re staffed to the edge and have no time to blog. Blogging isn’t as difficult as you think or as time consuming as you are led to believe. Take the time to invest into a blog and get going. Your customers and your prospective customers are looking and may have some really great things to say about you. And guess what, others will believe it.

You have plenty to say, so come on, get a blog, and get saying it.

The key to building your web presence is creating valuable content and pointing targeted backlinks to it. We’ve tried everything else, only to be sorely disappointed. Blogging interactive with others will build our presence, as we use our comments to build SEO. I recommend making Google Alerts from the title keywords of our posts and monitoring them in Google Reader. We should comment the relevant posts that turn up in Reader, leaving a keyword based anchor in the comment. We can start to making money online as we allow web 2.0 it’s place in out online venture. We should always keep our feed readily available for subscribers to join our blog.
